Self-assisted Guide for Configuring INGENICO LANE 3000/5000

Thank you for choosing the Ingenico Lane PIN pads!

THIS IS YOUR SELF-ASSISTED GUIDE FOR CONFIGURING INGENICO LANE 3000/5000.

STEP 1. CONNECT YOUR PINPAD DIRECTLY TO A PC

Ingenico/3000 model – Start by plugging the USB cable included with your terminal into a free USB port on your PC.

Ingenico/5000 model – Start by plugging the USB cable included with your terminal into a free USB port on your PC. Then connect the small, narrow end of the power adapter to the power port of the terminal and plug the other end of the power cable into your power outlet.

STEP 2. INSTALL DRIVERS

When Elevate Web POS is installed, the option to install Ingenico's drivers is enabled by default. Check whether the drivers are installed on your PC by going to Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program. In the list of installed programs, look for Ingenico USB Drivers (remove only).

If the drivers are not there, use Boost Elevate POS to install them. Go to File > Configuration > POS Equipment tab > PIN pad. Select your Lane model (3000/5000) from the drop-down list and click Apply, then confirm driver installation by clicking Yes, and click OK back in POS. For the installed drivers to start working, confirm to restart your PC.

STEP 3. CONFIGURE WEB POS

Once you reboot your PC, log back into Elevate Web POS. After accessing the cart, you'll see a ‘New Device Detected' pop-up > click 'Yes’. You'll be redirected to the Device Settings PIN pad configuration. Next, click Add Device> OK.

In case the pop-up doesn’t appear, add the Device manually. Go to Settings > Device Settings > hit +Add Device in the upper-right corner. Next, click Terminals > press ●●● opposite your Lane model (3000/5000) > hit About Device. Choose the correct COM port from the drop-down list and click Add Device> OK on the confirmation window to complete the configuration.

Selecting the correct COM port is crucial for PIN pad setup. To check it, go to Control Panel > View devices and printers > Devices > More devices and printer settings. Step 4 in the screenshot shows the correct display of the Lane device after setting up drivers and rebooting. Wait a minute for the information to load, then check the COM port in the brackets.

STEP 4. CHECK PIN PAD POWER SETTINGS

Enabled power settings cause the PIN pad connected to your PC to disconnect randomly. Check the power settings and PC overall power management settings to avoid connectivity issues.

Using the Start menu, open Device Manager > locate Universal Serial Bus Controllers > right-click on USB Root Hub > select Properties > go to the Power Management tab > uncheck ‘Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power’ > click OK.

To adjust your PC power management settings, go to Power, Sleep, and battery settings through the Start menu and set the ‘Never’ setting for the Screen and Sleep options. Then return to the Start menu and go to Edit power plan. The ‘Put the computer to sleep’ option for both battery and plugged-in devices should be set to ‘Never.’ Click ‘Change additional power settings’ > locate USB Settings > disable ‘USB selective suspend settings’ > click Apply and OK to save changes.

YOUR PINPAD IS READY TO PROCESS PAYMENTS!
