THIS IS YOUR SELF-ASSISTED GUIDE FOR CONFIGURING INGENICO LANE 3000/5000.
Ingenico/5000 model – Start by plugging the USB cable included with your terminal into a free USB port on your PC. Then connect the small, narrow end of the power adapter to the power port of the terminal and plug the other end of the power cable into your power outlet.
If the drivers are not there, use Boost Elevate POS to install them. Go to File > Configuration > POS Equipment tab > PIN pad. Select your Lane model (3000/5000) from the drop-down list and click Apply, then confirm driver installation by clicking Yes, and click OK back in POS. For the installed drivers to start working, confirm to restart your PC.
In case the pop-up doesn’t appear, add the Device manually. Go to Settings > Device Settings > hit +Add Device in the upper-right corner. Next, click Terminals > press ●●● opposite your Lane model (3000/5000) > hit About Device. Choose the correct COM port from the drop-down list and click Add Device> OK on the confirmation window to complete the configuration.
Selecting the correct COM port is crucial for PIN pad setup. To check it, go to Control Panel > View devices and printers > Devices > More devices and printer settings. Step 4 in the screenshot shows the correct display of the Lane device after setting up drivers and rebooting. Wait a minute for the information to load, then check the COM port in the brackets.
Using the Start menu, open Device Manager > locate Universal Serial Bus Controllers > right-click on USB Root Hub > select Properties > go to the Power Management tab > uncheck ‘Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power’ > click OK.
To adjust your PC power management settings, go to Power, Sleep, and battery settings through the Start menu and set the ‘Never’ setting for the Screen and Sleep options. Then return to the Start menu and go to Edit power plan. The ‘Put the computer to sleep’ option for both battery and plugged-in devices should be set to ‘Never.’ Click ‘Change additional power settings’ > locate USB Settings > disable ‘USB selective suspend settings’ > click Apply and OK to save changes.
